My name is Kenzie. I'm 21 years old. I live in a nice place down near the sea in the South East of England. I have a teensy obsession with tattoos, music and vintage. I also have a little infatuation with bums and the Franco brothers. I'm a bit of an avid reader.
I track vintagedisguise and I like to reblog absolutely anything that interests me.

I sometimes wonder if Americans get this part of the film, because basically all the Swans in England belong to the Queen and it’s against the law to kill one, and because they’re Police Officers, they obviously can’t break the law so they save the Swan

This scene is SO important. Maleficent is with someone she trusts, someone she considers a friend. And then the next thing she knows, she wakes up in pain, bleeding, with her wings burned off. A huge part of her has been destroyed.

Rape is so prominent in our culture that it is in a Disney movie. Maybe not explicitly, but it is very clear what this scene represents and it is so sad.

Normally I hate adding comments to posts but considering Angelina Jolie is very involved in women’s rights and works overseas to bring awareness to sexual assault/rape/etc, I’m betting she did this intentionally to highlight it. I think she had a lot of control over this movie.
